Market Street Music Noontime Concert: Sparx

November 13 @ 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm EST

Take your lunch break with the Delaware Historical Society on Thursdays throughout November! DHS and Market Street Music are back with noontime concerts, from 12:30-1 p.m. in historic Old Town Hall.

The series continues on Thursday, November 13 with Sparx.

Joan Sparks, flute & Anne Sullivan, harp

This program celebrates America’s rich and varied musical heritage through works that reflect both its history and its spirit of creativity. From the stately *Sonata in C Major* by General John Reid—a British general who actually fought against the Americans in the Revolution—to the jazz-infused lyricism of Nuncio Mondello’s *Poem*, the program spans centuries of musical expression. Contemporary voices are equally present: Louis Anthony deLise’s *Petite Fall Fanfare* offers a bright, modern flourish, while Linthicum-Blackhorse’s *Mnicakmun: Sounds of Water* honors Native American traditions and connection to the natural world. Together, these works highlight the diverse cultural threads that have shaped America’s musical landscape.

Free admission. Enter through the Delaware History Museum at 504 N. Market St.
