Slavery and Ideas of Freedom in Revolutionary Philadelphia

In this virtual presentation, Adam Xavier McNeil will discuss the differing roles Philadelphia played in the story of freedom in the lives of African Americans during the American Revolution and its aftermath. Mr. McNeil will show how the meaning of the war differed for various populations of Black people based on gender, geography, and other important factors.
