History and Humanity of the WWII Japanese American Experience

May 30 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Join the Delaware Historical Society and Huxley & Hiro Booksellers to mark Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special presentation of “History and Humanity of the WWII Japanese American Experience.”
Kent Matsumoto and Constance Hays Matsumoto are co-authors of the WWII historical novel Of White Ashes, inspired by the true stories of the authors’ family. Of White Ashes illuminates the experiences of ordinary people that compel us to reflect on the resilience of humanity and the risk of history repeating. The Matsumotos will discuss their extensive research and how it developed into a historical novel.
Of White Ashes is a 2024 Winner of the Independent Book Publishers Benjamin Franklin silver award in historical fiction and a 2023 winner of Pencraft Awards for Literary Excellence and finalist for American Book Fest Best Book Award.
