Delaware Historical Society Traveling Exhibitons - let us bring history to you!

Currently, the Delaware Historical Society has three traveling exhibits that can be set up at your location.

“Deliverance in Delaware: The Underground Railroad in the First State.”

Take a look at the path the Underground Railroad took through Delaware and the role key Delawareans played.

Specs: This exhibit consists of six panels (each 43 ½” high x 22” wide) that are displayed on folding collapsible walls that can either be stacked two-high or separated in to two sections to fit different room sizes and shapes. 

“Almost as Fast as Birds Can Fly: The History of the Railroad in Delaware.”

This exhibit details the history of the railroad in Delaware and how it affected the state’s growth and development.  Included are notable Wilmington car building companies Jackson & Sharp and Harlan & Hollingsworth and fun facts about the railway in popular culture.

Specs: This exhibit consists of fifteen free-standing, pull-up vinyl panels (each 81 ½” high x 34 ½” wide)

“Henry Szymanski Photographs”

A selection of 10 photographs of Wilmington's East Side neighborhood, reproduced from images originally photographed by teenager Henry Szymanski in the late 1930s.  Professionally matted and framed, black and white; (7) 10 x 12 and (3) 16 x 20 (sizes are approximate). All images travel with professional ID and additional small panel to introduce the exhibit.

Perfect for office, building, or library foyer.

The images have been on exhibit at Vice President Joe Biden's official residence in Washington, D.C.

Cost: $50.00 (plus travel fees*):

*0 - 49 Miles Round trip -no Additional Fee
* 50 - 99 Miles round trip - Additional $15
* 100 - 200 Miles round trip - Additional $30
