Description

Shakespeare, Poe and FiendsSpend an evening with masters of the macabre as Delaware Shakespeare actors open many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore during this year's presentation of "Shakespeare, Poe & Fiends." Actors will perform dramatic readings of some dark selections from plays, prose and poetry in Old Town Hall, built in 1798, and where prisoners were once held in stockades. Just in time to put you in the Halloween spirit!

Old Town Hall was the first purpose-built structure for Wilmington's government. For more than 100 years, the building served as the center of local government and many community activities. By 1916 city government had outgrown Old Town Hall and sold it to the Delaware Historical Society. Today it is used for rotating exhibitions, meetings and event rentals.
