Description

Tactics Game_ca 1940Who doesn’t enjoy a little lighthearted competition with friends around a game of Monopoly, Risk, Scrabble, or Trouble?  Spend your Friday night with the Delaware Historical Society and play your favorite!  Board Games are extremely popular and while we may think of them as a recent pastime, their history is much longer and broader than American 20th century living rooms.  In fact, versions of many games date back to ancient civilizations, including the Mesopotamians, Egyptians, and Aztecs. A selection of the roughly thirty board games in the Society’s object collections that date from the late 18th century to the present will be on hand to view while modern favorites will be available to play.

Free parking provided by Colonial Parking, Sixth and Shipley streets.
Reservations required: (302) 655-7161
$7.00 Society members; $10.00 non-members
Light snacks and beverages provided.
