Celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month with the Delaware Historical Society!
Saturday, June 03, 2017  1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

JUne is Immigrant Heritage Month_Let's Celebrate!Ever want to create a museum exhibit?  Feel like celebrating Delaware?  Now you can do both! The Delaware Historical Society is hosting a Pop Up Museum in honor of Immigrant Heritage Month.  A Pop Up Museum is a temporary exhibit created solely by you, the program participants.  We invite you to bring a small- to medium-sized object that represents the theme “Immigrants Welcome”—this can be anything meaningful to you that tells the story of immigration, past or present. At the Pop Up, you will write a label for your object that tells how it represents the theme and put it on a table for display.  The Pop Up will run from 1:00-3:00 pm, but please arrive by 12:30 to write your label. Then, spend the afternoon sharing your story, meeting other participants and visitors, and celebrating Delaware’s diverse cultural heritage!

Bring an object for FREE admission! At 1:00 p.m., there will be an official proclamation that June is Immigrant Heritage Month in the city of Wilmington. Light snacks and beverages provided.

We also welcome participants to bring a photograph to add to our “Faces of Delaware” photo wall, which will be on display all month.

Bring an object for free admission!*
*one object per person equals free admission.
